The Brass Rod Anglewinder
In 1967, the dominant pro slot car chassis
was a brass rod inline chassis. By 1968,
everything had changed, and everyone was building
brass pan anglewinders.
Yet, it was a historical accident that (1) the anglewinder motor orientation
and (2) the sheet brass "pan" chassis construction technique, arrived at the same time.
It could have happened that the anglewinder concept was discovered, or brought to the pro scene,
before pan construction arrived, and there could have been a period of brass rod anglewinder
chassis development.
It didn't happen that way, but that concept of a pre-pan, all brass rod anglewinder
was the inspiration for this beautiful chassis. Thanks, Doug!
